Last night we gathered at the Hunter River Hotel for Lights, Camera, Connect; an energising and highly practical workshop focused on helping businesses show up with confidence on video.

With digital content continuing to shape how customers connect, engage and buy, the session unpacked why video is no longer optional, and more importantly, how to start.

Delivered by Helen Oswald from Magnetic Shots, the workshop struck a powerful balance between the do’s, the don’ts and real-world application. From the outset, it was clear this wasn’t about perfection or expensive production.  It was about building confidence, showing up authentically, and taking action.

There was a real buzz in the room, with plenty of “aha” moments as attendees began to shift their mindset around video. What often feels like a barrier quickly became an opportunity, with everyone breaking into teams to try out the tips and tricks shared by Helen.

A Few Key Takeaways

  • Video is leading the way when it comes to visibility and engagement online
  • Authenticity outperforms polish, people connect with real, not perfect
