SUMMER SUNSET NETWORKING

Last night’s Sunset Summer Networking was one of those moments that remind you just how special our business community and our city really is.

Held from the rooftop level of Punt Hill Apartments guests took a moment to relax as we commenced the 2026 ‘event series’ with sweeping sunset views across our historic river city. For many, it was their first time experiencing Maitland’s best kept secret, sparking more than just a few conversations about perspective, possibility, and the opportunity we all have to make a meaningful difference here.

The evening kicked off in style with exceptional wines from Boydell’s, generously poured by Andy (whose warm Cuban accent and constant glass-topping quickly became a crowd favourite). With cool beers flowing on what was a very warm afternoon and Taylah from Punthill ensuring everything ran seamlessly, guests were free to relax and enjoy the moment. As always, the catering was outstanding, with beautifully presented and utterly delicious canapes’ by Amorelle and the team from Slow Food Hunter Valley.

But while the views, food, and wine set the tone, the heart of the night was the conversation.

It was fantastic to see so many new faces, along with familiar ones returning.  People who may have attended once or twice before and are now coming back because they can feel the momentum building within the Chamber. There was genuine connection in every corner of the room, conversations that will continue well beyond the night itself, and the kind of relationship-building that strengthens our business community long term.

If there was someone in the room you didn’t quite get a chance to speak with, or someone you’d love to continue the conversation, don’t forget to complete the E-Connector via the link below and we’ll help make that introduction.

We also enjoyed hearing from some of our newest members, along with plenty of laughs thanks to light-hearted, engaging presentations. Jamie Canavan, Vice President, wrapped up the formalities by acknowledging Andrew Vile’s superb MC work and also shared a passionate plug for Women in Business. A reminder that men are absolutely encouraged to attend the March showstopper event.  We want to see women’s leadership grow in Maitland, and that happens best with everyone’s support. So think pink, spread the word, and help us shout it from the rooftops of the Maitland Town Hall on 27 March WIB TICKETS

Jamie also shared a quick chat with Belinda, our Executive Officer, who is taking the stage this May to raise funds for Stars of the Hunter Cancer Council campaign — a cause close to her heart, Belinda’s focus is bringing joy to those facing one of life’s toughest challenges. Belinda also gave a shout-out to her upcoming Sunset Siesta Fundraiser on 28 March at the Lorn Park Bowls Club and encouraged everyone to attend.  Read more

As always, thank you for being part of this community. Nights like this are a powerful reminder that in business, none of us are alone. When we come together, we build stronger relationships, stronger advocacy, and stronger momentum.

We’re better together – and we’re just getting started. Let’s keep connecting, keep growing, and keep making Maitland the place we love to live in!
