Sunset Networking – Boutique Wines and postcard views!

When Connection Happens Naturally
What a night! Our Winter Sunset Networking event at the stunning Punt Hill Apartments last Thursday was proof that the best connections don’t happen under fluorescent lights or in boardrooms — they happen when people come together, relax, and let conversations flow as easily as the wine in their glass.
With the backdrop of Maitland’s winter skyline, members and guests mingled, laughed, and shared stories in a way that felt effortless. That’s the beauty of networking done right — it’s not about swapping business cards; it’s about sparking relationships that grow into collaborations, opportunities, and long-term support.
A huge thank you to our collaborators for making the evening extra special: Punt Hill Apartments, one of Maitland’s premier accommodation and event venues, and Boydell’s Wines, whose beautiful selection kept glasses (and conversations) flowing. We’re especially excited to see Boydell’s expansion in the region, and proud to highlight two local businesses that reflect the strength, creativity, and growth of our community.
At the Maitland Business Chamber, we believe these organic moments of connection are what help our members truly thrive. When the right people are in the room, magic happens — and our Winter Sunset Networking night was a perfect reminder of just that.
Spotlight on Our Collaborators
Boydell’s – From Rich Soil to Premium Wine
Boydell’s story runs deep in Hunter Valley soil. First settled in 1826 by Welshman Charles Boydell, the land became renowned for its fertile bounty, growing everything from tobacco to wine — prized for their unrivalled quality. Fast forward to 1997, when those famously rich soils were replanted with vines that continue to produce some of the Hunter’s finest fruit today. Now under the passionate care of Daniel and Jane Maroulis, Boydell’s has become a shining example of premium winemaking and dining, with a charming cellar door and restaurant experience in Morpeth, and their wines stocked locally by select vendors. A highlight on their calendar is the much-loved Long Lunch, happening 17 and 19 October at the stunning Tocal Homestead. With Boydell’s wine, fine food, and views across the paddocks, it’s an experience not to be missed.
