Got Your Back Sista (GYBS) helps women and children rebuild their lives after fleeing domestic violence. We’re all about empowering women to thrive, be happy and live independently. GYBS offers 5 key streams of support: providing furniture and household items; crisis assistance and advice; personal growth workshops and counselling; a pathway from education to employment; educating community about healthy relationships and domestic violence.
Founded by Melissa Histon, GYBS is in our 7th year of operations, focussing on the Hunter, Upper Hunter, and Taree regions. As a charitable organisation, we have DGR1 status and are self-funded, so are very grateful for the support of our community – corporates, individuals, volunteers, and community groups.

Our Committee
The leadership of Maitland Business Chamber comprises an elected board of up to 12 members including the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and Executive Members who commit on a voluntary basis.

Can Do Business
